Girl

There's a girl down there

you can see her

but you have to turn just right

I can see her smile

and then I smile

I wonder what her favorite things are

she's doing a terrific job

I never want to stop watching

I'll wait until she walks up the stairs

Night

I fall out of bed

twinkles light up the room

I grease my old pan

and whisper thank you

The Beginning

As my father would say, "I've made a major decision."

I have decided to start living my life.

I no longer want to live in the hole I have created for myself.

I want to do the thing I am afraid of.

I want to grab that thing I most believe in and never look back.

It will not be easy.

But it will be true.

And my heart will confirm this.

As today I begin my real adventure.
